CCI is an evangelical, non-denominational organization that has promoted the dynamic work of children’s camping ministry around the world since 2003, partnering with indigenous churches to reach the children of the developing world. The programs focus on complete transformation through intentional evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training programs. The foundation of these effort began in one country in Southeast Asia. Today, this influence is quickly spreading across Southeast Asia and South America.

Through partnerships with indigenous churches, the use of volunteers, and scales of economy, the cost of sending a child (7 to 12-years-old) to a week of Bible Camp is still just $5.00. This includes a week of day camps where they are introduced to Jesus and to weekly follow-up programming for an entire year. This is where true transformation takes place. The Camp and follow-up experience leads to a connection with the trained camp counselors and eventually to Christ.  Children in these countries may never hear about Jesus in any other way. And even if they are lucky enough to hear about Him, they may fall away due to a lack of discipleship.

Statistically, the greatest proportion of people who choose to follow Christ make this decision before they are 15 years old. For this reason, the priority is reaching children for Christ. In addition, the relational approach of camping programs is the most effective way to invest in building future leaders. It is never too early to build leadership qualities into youth. There have been many campers who have grown up to become pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and dedicated Christian laborer’s who are effectively building the kingdom of Christ.

Last year over 2000 indigenous churches were able to send more than 200,000 children to camp and most of them are in discipleship programs now. With thousands of more churches on the waiting list to get involved, the time to expand is now.

Children’s Camps International raises funds through a number of initiatives such as Harvest for Kids and Build It for Kids but the majority of the funding comes through personal and corporate donations. Our staff continues to work tirelessly to expand corporate partnerships and seize fund-raising activities to secure the sustainability of the camping and follow-up programs.
