Since 2009, Cornerstone Christian Counseling has provided outpatient, faith-based counseling services to individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Knowing that life is hard and most of us will, at some point in our lives, need help navigating its deep waters, our guiding verse is John 10:10 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (Jesus). We exist, then, to help people heal, grow, and thrive in Jesus' name. When Cornerstone first opened it’s doors well over a decade ago, there was a lot of stigma around talking about mental health. Words like “anxiety,” “depression” or “trauma” weren’t topics of everyday conversation. However, fast forward to 2020, and COVID changed all of that (which might have been one of the few good things that came out of that season).
Today, talk of mental health abounds, and while there is freedom in recognizing that we are all broken people in need of a little help, statistics from the National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that as many as 1 in 5 of us will experience some sort of mental illness each year. These are people we love, people we work with, and people we call friends and family. They may even be us. And Cornerstone’s Scholarship Fund wants to meet people right where they’re at: helping them get from where they’re at to where they ultimately want to be.
As one might guess, one of the reasons many people don’t get the counseling help they need is because of financial constraints. The increased cost of living in recent years has made counseling feel like a “luxury” that is out of reach for many, while in fact it may be one of the most vital things someone can pursue for themselves in order to pave the path for a healthier, happier, and more productive life in the future. We see access to mental health as a non-negotiable for living the “life to the full” that Jesus died to give us all.
Enter the Cornerstone Scholarship Fund. A branch of Cornerstone Christian Counseling, Inc, the Cornerstone Scholarship Fund exists to provide financial assistance to those who need it most, so that faith-based counseling services aren’t out of reach. We believe, after all, that true and complete healing doesn’t come without the loving involvement of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please consider being a part of a legacy that has the potential to change someone’s life, marriage, family, and future by donating to the Cornerstone Scholarship Fund today.
