Vision

Kanal Hayat’s vision is to reconcile God’s children with Christ & see them discipled.

Mission

By making the Gospel accessible for people in their native language in a credible and relevant manner, we believe in connecting individuals with Christ, helping them to identify as Christians and belong to meaningful fellowships of faith and discipleship.

We do this by creating evangelical media content that is broadcast on our content website as well as social media, primarily YouTube. We also work together with local churches and pastors to connect people into local Christian communities.

Turk speaking people are one of the most unreached people groups in the world. With 99% identifying as Muslim and persecution towards Christians and mission workers high, it can be challenging to be open about faith and mission. With many Christian workers being kicked out of Turkey in recent times, it can be challenging to share the gospel and equip a church that is made up of many first-generation Christians.

Our ministry believes that media is an excellent tool for spreading the gospel in this nation. Many Turks spend up to 7 hours a day behind a screen, so using media tools like YouTube, allows us to spread the gospel wide, without interference from the authorities. It is also an engaging way for people to hear the message of Jesus, while allowing enough anonymity that we are able to operate somewhat freely.

A challenge we have as a media ministry is finding the skilled workers we need to produce and edit our content. It is important for us that we have local, Turk-speakers who are believers and who have the skills we need to produce excellent content for viewers. We continue to pray that God will provide, after all, the more Christians in the nation, the more opportunities for different ministries (including ours), to grow.

The other important part of our work is connecting with local churches, pastors and volunteers to help funnel people from being viewers, to being a part of local communities. Here, people can be baptised, discipled and find fellowship with other believers. Our local connections are extremely important for follow-up, as it allows people to connect in their native language and avoid the repercussions that outside ministry workers face. It can be challenging to have enough workers to connect and follow up with new believers or curious people. We do our best, however, we would also love to see this side of the ministry grow with more dedicated workers.
