Himalaya Asha Kendra’s New Life House supports women recovering from exploitative or crisis situations. Because of limited economic opportunity at home and a patriarchal society, many women in Nepal find themselves in exploitative or abusive situations. More than 15,000 women and girls are trafficked from Nepal each year and many more face severe hardship due to discrimination against women, forced marriages, domestic abuse, or severe poverty.
New Life House exists to provide a place of recovery and restoration for women returning to Nepal from trafficking or recovering from crisis situations. It provides housing, vocational training, and connections to a network of other services such as medical, legal, and counseling.
New Life House primarily needs funding for housing, training expenses, and staffing to care for its tenants. Please join us in supporting restorative care for women in Nepal.
