Ministry Description: Manna Child Sponsorship, Family Aid and Community Development Organization

Purpose and Goal

Manna is a faith-based organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia. Our core mission is to provide a loving, stable, and Christ-centered environment for children who have nowhere else to turn. We achieve this through our residential child sponsorship program, which provides comprehensive care including shelter, nutritious food, healthcare, and education right here on our compound. Furthermore, we extend our support through family aid, assisting struggling families in the community to help them become self-sufficient and keep their children healthy and in school. Our ultimate goal is to raise a generation of educated, compassionate, and godly leaders.

Challenges Your Ministry is Facing

Currently, our ministry is facing its most severe financial crisis. The significant loss of major international support has drastically reduced our operational capacity. This funding shortage has impacted every single aspect of our work:

We are struggling to provide basic necessities. Ensuring consistent, nutritious meals for every child in our care is a daily challenge.

We have fallen behind on critical staff payments. Our dedicated team continues to serve with unwavering love despite delays in their salaries, which is our heaviest burden.

We are unable to meet the overwhelming need. The local government has identified more vulnerable children who need a home, but we cannot accept them as we can barely sustain the children already under our care. Our activities are severely constrained, and we operate in a state of survival rather than growth.

Handling Challenges and What Kind of Help is Needed

In response, we have prayerfully focused our dwindling resources on our most critical mission: sustaining the lives of the children currently in our home. We have had to pause the larger community development projects we were once known for (like school construction and clean water initiatives) to ensure our children are fed and safe.

We urgently need help in two specific areas:

Immediate Relief: Financial gifts to cover our most pressing needs—securing food supplies and fulfilling our obligations to our faithful staff. This provides immediate stability.

Reliable Child Sponsorships: The most sustainable help comes through child sponsorship. A commitment of [$X] per month directly provides for a child's food, education, and medical care.
