The purpose and goal of Marles Children's Foundation is to provide for the education and basic needs (food, potable water, transportation, boarding) of impoverished (including homeless) Ugandan children in the area of Wakiso and the broader Kampala region by operating MCF Junior Schools(Junior kindergarten to Primary 4).
Secure adequate, uninterrupted supply of water. Drought conditions make supply from rainwater harvesting insufficient.
Recruiting and retaining qualified teaching and support staff. Rising staff salaries, allowances and government-mandated benefits are stressing the school's operating budget.
Staff have reached out to municipal authorities and received an offer to connect to municipal water source at a cost of ~CAD $2000. New donations are required to make this happen.
New on-going monthly donations of ~CAD $3000 are required to meet this increasing funding need.
