Rock of Hope Haiti was founded in August 2021. Our goal is to help build strong foundations to help weather the storms of life. We believe Christ-centered Education is integral for that. This is why we partner with the Nazareth School to educate 250 children; we also support two single mothers and their children with basic needs such as food, medication, and Education, we call these our Empowerment families.
As seen in the news Haitian people have been struggling due to gang violence, lack of safety, gas shortages, and political crisis for many months; this has had a major impact on the economy and caused high rates of inflation and unemployment. Additionally, students were unable to return to school in September; praise God the school year was able to start in mid-January. We continue to pray for stability in government and for good leadership.
Education is one of our top priorities and we believe providing Christ-centered education for the children is key to bringing lasting change to the country. We are excited to share that the oldest child, from one of the empowerment families we are supporting, will graduate from high school in June. We are excited to see how God's faithfulness and provision will impact his life.
Our goal for 2023 is to implement a feeding program at the school. We recently learned that many of the children attending the school were experiencing stomach aches because they were hungry; it is well-documented that children are at a great disadvantage in learning when they are hungry. Please help us raise funds to be able to give the children a hot meal daily. The sad reality is, for some, this could be the only meal they have all day.
About Us
Sadrac and Leeann met in Haiti in 2010 while Leeann was serving at another organization near Sadrac’s hometown. We currently live in Canada with our three children. Sadrac travels to Haiti 1 or 2 times a year when possible. Rock of Hope Haiti is located in Source Matelas Haiti approximately 30 minutes north of Port au Prince. Rock of Hope Haiti was founded in August 2021. The name, Rock of Hope Haiti, was inspired by the scripture Matthew 3:24-27.
Prayer Request:
Please pray for our students. Due to all the turmoil in Haiti in 2022 the school year, which was supposed to start in September, just started in mid-January. They have a long year ahead as they will have to go to school through the summer with only a week or two breaks before the next year starts in September.
Pray for Haiti as a whole, that they would be able to form a good government and stabilize the country. Pray for the safety of the people of Haiti; gang violence remains a significant problem. Pray for God to provide for their needs
