In Somalia, the availability of education, particularly for girls, remains severely restricted due to its exclusive reliance on private funding, with a lack of public educational opportunities. For families capable of sending their children to school, those aged 12 and older typically take precedence. Consequently, a significant number of primary-level students are deprived of the crucial early education that lays the foundation for their future success.
Encouragingly, there have been recent positive strides in the country. With the collaboration of Elman Peace, the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, and Love Does, a beacon of hope has emerged in the form of a new Primary School established in Mogadishu, Somalia.
We’re thrilled to present a video that encapsulates our collaboration with Elman Peace, specially crafted to commemorate International Children’s Day. At present, our endeavors encompass a spectrum of initiatives including the Girls Leadership Academy, Baby Home, and Safe Houses. Additionally, we are actively engaged in the developmental stage of constructing a new middle school, primary school, and a second Girls Leadership Academy. The transformation taking place in this region is humbling, and we deeply appreciate the indispensable role played by the Love Does community, whose support makes all of this possible.
Ministry Overview:
Since 2002, Love Does has been actively championing human rights, aiding the vulnerable, and offering education within conflict zones. Understanding the enduring impact of education in nurturing peace, their schools and programs strive to imbue children with values of peace, love, and hope, fostering a cycle of positive influence. Recognizing the profound influence of early experiences on adulthood, they invest in the long-term development of children to effect lasting change in conflict-affected regions. Their deliberate focus on establishing schools in these zones, led by dedicated educators, equips students with skills in leadership, peacebuilding, and entrepreneurship, empowering them to enter adulthood with confidence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Prayer Request:
We invite you to join us in prayer for the students enrolled at the Primary School in Mogadishu, Somalia, as well as for the continued impact of Love Does in the lives of children across the globe.
