Ambassadors For Christ In Canada - 50 Years of Blessing Generations

In a world brimming with distractions and secular influences, engaging, discipling, and nurturing young people with the heart and missional spirit of Jesus is more critical than ever. Our youth are constantly bombarded with competing voices and values that can lead them away from their faith. By grounding them in the teachings and love of Jesus, we provide them with a solid foundation to navigate these challenges. This spiritual guidance not only helps them grow as individuals but also empowers them to become compassionate, purpose-driven leaders who can make a transformative impact in a broken world. Investing in the spiritual development of young people is essential for fostering a generation that embodies Christ's love and mission, shining as beacons of hope and truth in their communities.

Ambassadors For Christ (AFC) in Canada is dedicated to furthering God's work within the worldwide evangelical student movement. Through partnerships with local churches, AFC supports students, primarily Chinese, in their spiritual journeys by grounding them in Scripture and guiding them to become faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Their mission encompasses providing leadership, guidance, and training in evangelism, discipleship, leadership, and world missions for high school and college students, aiming to nurture a generation of spiritually grounded and missionally engaged leaders.

For over 50 years, AFC has actively ministered to students on campuses across Ontario, encouraging bold student witnesses and seeking to spark a nationwide movement. The organization's story began in the 1960s and '70s with a significant influx of Chinese overseas students to Canadian universities. Recognizing the need for spiritual support, Rev. Stephen Knights founded AFC, and in 1972, it was officially registered as a non-profit Christian organization. Over the decades, AFC has continued to expand its reach, addressing the evolving challenges and needs of Chinese students and their families, particularly during the immigration waves of the '80s and '90s.

AFC's mission is to advance the gospel on campuses throughout Eastern Canada, focusing on new immigrant youth and international students. They aim to equip Christian students to become missionally oriented disciples who embody and spread missionary values, whether they remain in Canada or return to their homelands. By partnering with churches and like-minded organizations, AFC fosters a collaborative environment to propagate the Christian student movement. While respecting the autonomy of student groups, AFC provides leadership, guidance, and training to prepare students for effective service in their local communities and the broader world. Through diverse annual events like ONE Connection, Leaders in Networking Konnection, Frosh ConneXion, and Advanced Leadership Training, AFC fosters spiritual growth and builds a supportive community that empowers students to live out their faith boldly and transform campuses across Canada with the power of the gospel.
