Rotha And Sinath Chay - The Center
From Poverty to God's Purpose

In Cambodia, access to quality education and spiritual guidance is a daily challenge for many families. In Prey Tea Village, Phnom Penh, the struggle is real—students face broken family situations, poverty, and the weight of hopelessness. Without access to solid education or mentorship, many turn to drugs or alcohol, and Christian institutions are often met with skepticism or outright discrimination. Yet, in the middle of this spiritual and social desert, something incredible is happening—God is writing stories of redemption and transformation.

The Center, a ministry located in Prey Tea Village, is courageously stepping into these hard places. Focused on providing Christ-centered education and sharing the Gospel, this ministry has seen lives completely transformed. Young people once addicted or living without purpose are now strong community leaders. The local attitude toward Christian education has shifted—once discriminated against, the Christian school is now respected and even sought after. Every lesson taught and every life touched is a visible act of God’s redemptive love at work.

Still, the journey has not been easy. With over 200 students and 15 teachers, the ministry faces daily challenges—students with difficult home lives, teachers in need of encouragement, and a church without a full-time pastor. Sinath, the leader of The Center, carries both the spiritual and administrative burdens with grace, often stepping in as church leader during school breaks. Yet, even in the struggles, God has remained faithful. Over 15 years of leadership training have borne fruit: new leaders now run the school with wisdom and passion, and the church is growing with song leaders and musicians stepping into their roles.

The Great Commission Foundation has been a vital partner in this mission, not only by helping track reports and sending funds but also through faithful prayer support. But the need remains great. The school needs more supplies and stable funding to continue operating both the school and church effectively. There is also an urgent call for a pastor to shepherd the church body. You can be part of this beautiful work by sharing this story, praying for the team, or contributing to help meet the growing needs in this community.

Prayer Request:

Pray for wisdom for the school's leadership and that more students can experience transformation by the power of the Gospel.
