About This Project

Our Mission Avad Ministries exists to bring the life-changing hope of the gospel to children and their families. Through compassionate, community-based outreach, Avad responds to the urgent needs of vulnerable communities, offering both spiritual nourishment and practical support. How We Serve We seek to empower children and families by nurturing faith, restoring dignity, and equipping leaders through a wide range of programs. These include Vacation Bible School, children’s and youth ministries, outreach and care for abused women and widows, connection and support groups, and online children’s ministry and leadership training. The Community Center: A Place of Hope At the heart of this mission is Avad’s community center in Matuga, just north of Kampala, Uganda. More than a building, the center is a place of hope—a safe and welcoming hub where individuals and families gather to learn, grow, worship, and support one another. It also serves as a lending library of Christian teaching resources, equipping churches and community leaders to reach children with God’s Word. Why This Work Matters The work of the community center is vital. In many parts of Uganda, especially rural areas, churches and families lack the training and resources needed to teach biblical truths to children. Financial hardship, limited access to teaching materials and the internet, high costs of meeting spaces, and a shortage of volunteers often leave pastors struggling to reach the youngest and most vulnerable. A Growing Opportunity Yet within these challenges lies a remarkable opportunity. Africa’s rapidly growing population represents a generation hungry for truth, love, and purpose.
