About this Project

Christ our Savior is the one who created all things (Col 1:16), and Christ called us to love our neighbors as ourselves.  When we carelessly mistreat creation, we mistreat both our Creator and the people we are supposed to love.  Environmental abuse and neglect are root causes of poverty, hunger, and disease, leading to a loss of hope for many people across the world, especially in Africa.

At Creation Stewards International, we train and disciple people in Kenya to honor their Creator by helping them to become excellent stewards of creation.  Our mission is to connect the whole gospel to the whole person and the whole of creation, restoring both landscapes and the lives of people, helping to lift them out of poverty, hunger, and dependency on foreign aid.

To address the sinful nature of man, and the factors that degrade creation, CSI believes the solution requires a God-centered vision that transforms people.  This vision is essential to both convict and inspire people towards behavior change and the implementation of practical solutions.  Most pastors, church, and community leaders in Kenya don’t have a clear biblical vision for creation stewardship.  But armed with newfound understanding from God’s Word, and the right training, they could substantially restore their farms and forests, bringing mercy to the poor while advancing the cause of Christ at the same time.

Farming God’s Way, a biblically based version of regenerative agriculture, is one example of a practical win-win solution.  It wins because it restores the soil, stops erosion, promotes tree-planting, and improves crop yields.  It wins because it is an effective tool for discipleship.  And it wins because it opens the door for building a larger vision for creation stewardship and for honoring Christ in all dimensions of life.  More Christian leaders need to learn how Farming God’s Way could be a meaningful part of their ministries. or the admin email

 Realities in Africa today

  • People remain hungry for the gospel, and rural churches are often filled with small-scale farmers.

  • People are vulnerable to false doctrines, including the prosperity gospel.

  • Long-term missionaries agree that good discipleship is the greatest need.

  • Huge numbers of people are chronically hungry for food. By 2030 an estimated 310 million people will suffer from hunger and malnutrition. The US population today is 340 million.

  • People desperate for food often damage the health of God’s creation to survive. As the pattern continues, increased damage to creation leads to increased human suffering.

  • Large numbers of reached and unreached people in Africa are small-scale farmers or pastoralists.

  • Without a stable food supply, many things needed for a healthy community begin to unravel.

  • Christ-exalting efforts to free people from the constant struggle of poverty and hunger can be a strategic tool for building up a thriving and growing church in Africa.
