About This Project

Good Neighbour exists to renew the Church’s public engagement by equipping Christians to reflect theologically and act courageously in the pursuit of justice, compassion, and hospitality. Rooted in a vision of the Church as a faithful presence in the city, we seek to bridge the gap between theology and practice, helping Christians understand their faith as a way of life that shapes how they engage their neighbours and communities.

Through podcasts, lecture series, small-group video content, teaching, storytelling, and academic engagement, Good Neighbour creates accessible resources that invite churches into deeper conversations about what it means to love our neighbours well. Our goal is not simply to inform, but to stir imagination, foster action, and support the Church in seeking the peace and flourishing of the city.

Challenges

One of the primary challenges Good Neighbour addresses is the gap between the Church’s desire to engage its communities and its capacity to know how to do so faithfully and effectively. Many Christians recognize the need to respond to issues such as poverty, isolation, injustice, homelessness, and social fragmentation, but often lack the theological frameworks and practical tools to navigate these realities well.

At the same time, churches can easily become inward-focused, concentrating primarily on the needs and activities of their own congregations. Good Neighbour seeks to cultivate a different imagination: one in which the Church understands itself as a faithful presence within the wider life of the city, engaging neighbours with humility, compassion, and genuine relationship.

Response

Good Neighbour responds by developing resources that bring theological reflection into conversation with the realities Christians encounter in their neighborhoods and cities. We combine academic theology, ministry experience, storytelling, and community engagement to create resources that are both theologically grounded and practically relevant.

At this stage, the ministry’s greatest need is to establish greater stability in its operations while deepening the quality of its resources. Much of the work has been dependent on limited personal capacity. Financial support would allow us to establish sustainable processes for planning, content development, production, communications, and administration, creating a stronger foundation for long-term ministry.

Support would also enable us to invest more deeply in the development of resources—not simply producing more content, but creating material with greater theological depth, practical wisdom, and lasting value for churches, small groups, and Christian communities. Our hope is to build a sustainable ministry that thoughtfully equips the Church to become a more faithful presence in the city.
