About This Project

Jessica Hicks has been serving in Southeast Asia for almost six years with Ember Collective, a project dedicated to empowering women who are coming out of human trafficking or at risk of exploitation.

At Ember Collective, women are welcomed into a safe and creative space where healing begins. What starts as simple jewelry-making or salon training soon becomes art therapy, community, and confidence. Each woman discovers her own worth, learns new skills, and takes steps toward independence in a supportive environment rooted in faith.

Jessica oversees the jewelry workshop and hair salon, mentors young women in leadership, and helps expand Ember’s reach through training, retail sales, and storytelling in Canada and beyond. Every piece of jewelry and every haircut represents a life restored and a future rewritten.

About Jessica

Jessica felt called by God to leave her career in fashion and dedicate her life to serving women at risk. For the past five years she has lived in Southeast Asia, mentoring, training, and walking alongside young women as they build new futures. Her role includes:

  • Mentoring and discipleship

  • Overseeing the jewelry workshop and hair salon

  • Coaching young leaders

  • Overseeing the transitional apartments and walking girls through periods of transition

Jessica’s ministry is made possible through the partnership of donors who not only support Ember’s programs, but also provide for her personal living and ministry costs.

Why Your Gift Matters

When you give, you’re part of a story of transformation:

  • Safe Housing – transitional apartments where women find freedom, accountability, and community.

  • Vocational Training – jewelry-making, salon apprenticeships, and retail skills.

  • Leadership & Discipleship – young women grow in faith and confidence, learning to mentor others.

  • Personal Support for Jessica – your partnership also sustains Jessica’s daily ministry, language learning, and living costs so she can continue equipping women full-time.

Your generosity fuels both the programs and the person leading them.
