About This Project

Maternal Healthcare International is dedicated to serving mothers and families in rural Haiti through healthcare, education, and empowerment.

We provide Postpartum Hygiene Kits to mothers in need, which include washable postpartum/menstrual pads, soap, a comb, a toothbrush, and toothpaste; items that are crucial for health and hygiene during this vital time. In Haiti, an estimated 15-20% of pregnant women are teenagers, facing unique challenges that make them particularly vulnerable during pregnancy. To address this, we are excited to announce our initiative to launch an educational course specifically designed for pregnant teens and young mothers.

This 20-week program aims to educate and empower these girls as they step into motherhood, equipping them with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive. By educating and empowering teen mothers, we will help keep families together and reduce infant mortality. Educational topics will include breastfeeding, hygiene, bonding with your baby, preparing for labor and postpartum, and much more.

The program will also include a hot meal, one-on-one mentoring, postpartum support, a postpartum hygiene kit, and a welcome baby gift. Together, we can empower the next generation in Haiti.
