About This Project

The purpose of Proclaim Freedom to the Captives Ministry is to support the Great Commission by making disciples of Jesus Christ while serving survivors of human trafficking in Cambodia. This is carried out through Christ-centered relationships, discipleship, and ongoing support that fosters healing, restoration, and dignity. In addition, the ministry contributes to the development of a Survivor Leadership Program, helping equip survivors with the tools, confidence, and structure needed to grow as leaders and support others in their communities.

This ministry operates within a complex and sensitive environment. Survivors of human trafficking often face ongoing emotional, psychological, and social challenges that require consistent, trauma-informed care. Cultural background and past experiences can also shape how individuals perceive trust, identity, and faith, which may create barriers to understanding and receiving the message of Jesus. Additionally, the Survivor Leadership Program is still being developed, bringing challenges in establishing clear structures, training materials, and sustainable systems. Language learning and building trust within relationships also require time, patience, and intentionality.

To address these challenges, the ministry is focused on long-term, relational engagement while helping build strong program foundations. Through consistent relationships, discipleship, and leadership development, Proclaim Freedom to the Captives Ministry seeks to create safe and meaningful spaces where individuals can encounter Jesus in ways that are understandable and relevant to their context. This includes contributing to the development of training resources, leadership structures, and monitoring and evaluation processes that support sustainable growth. Ongoing language learning and cultural adaptation are also key priorities to ensure effective communication and deeper connection. Financial support is needed to sustain full-time ministry work, allowing for continued investment in discipleship, program development, and the strengthening of survivor leadership initiatives.
