About This Project

Unwritten Ministries, under the direction of John & Lorraine Baergen, Church Renewal Ambassadors, North America, focuses on two aspects of Church Renewal: firstly, discipleship and secondly, advancement of the overall ministry of Church Renewal.

As Ambassadors of Church Renewal, we seek to disciple church leaders, whether lay or paid, facilitate discussion groups, identify rising leaders, train leaders, and support and encourage their leadership.

In addition, so impacted by the evidence of renewal in groups, we travel nationally, meeting with church leaders to begin the discussion of Church Renewal, specifically of discipleship and the curriculum, ‘The Way’.

The greatest challenge is identifying leaders ready for the discipleship conversation and being where they are to speak into the conversation.

Through many years of ministry nationally with Church Renewal and prior to with Willow Creek Canada, we have established deep national ministry trust. Therefore, though Zoom has been an asset, we are prepared to take up the role of travel, though not to the extent of pre-COVID days, to pick up on and further these discipleship conversations. Founder & International Director of Church Renewal, Ray Duerksen, will travel nationally and beyond to meet with groups of Church Renewal pastors and those in Church Renewal mentoring groups. We will be setting up the Canadian meetings and inviting pastors and leaders to attend. From those contacts, we will develop a base from which to invite into discipleship mentoring.

We live in a unique time in history, nothing is constant. There is growing concern about the future. Progressive doctrine is making inroads into the local church, and the result is confusion about what we really believe and what biblical truths we stand on, and confusion over how we would live the biblical truths we stand on. There is a great lack of discipleship, and few know what it actually looks like played out in one’s life or in the church. We see fewer examples of believers whose lives reveal submission to Christ’s Lordship and the reality of a renewed life!

What is the answer?

The discipleship study and curriculum, ‘The Way,’ played out in a mentoring group environment, focuses first on the life of a leader and, through that changed life, brings intrigue by others influenced to follow in ‘The Way’ of Jesus! Discipleship begins by changing one life, who then equips and trains others, firstly by the influence of their renewed life and then through the curriculum, ‘The Way’! It is a study that focuses our attention on ‘orthopraxy’ (living out our faith) and ‘orthodoxy’ (the theology of our faith). It truly is about hearing the truth and knowing how to apply it personally!

Our dream is to see the impact of this curriculum renew the lives of believers in the church and beyond into society, whether the business world, professional world, academics, and eventually every aspect of life!

The ask?

Can you identify those leaders who would rise to new heights by involvement in such a group?

Can you identify influential leaders who would be willing to invest their lives into the lives of others?

Would you identify those church leaders who might consider using ‘The Way’ as the small group curriculum for their church?

We are limited by our lack of administrative help…who would be willing to invest toward payroll for office assistance, onsite or offsite?

Thank you for investing your time to read and consider what the ministry of Unwritten Ministries, particularly the discipleship curriculum ‘The Way’ might do for you. We would be so honoured to speak with you!
