We are facing challenging times in Brazil and around the world because of COVID-19. In the state of Pará, located in the Amazon Basin, there are many confirmed cases of the coronavirus and many more expected in the next coming weeks. In the middle of this situation, PAZ International is helping to protect the families in the area.
Urgent Needs
The river communities are far from the city and the villagers need to travel there to provide the necessary supplies for their families.So that the villagers do not have to go into the city as often, where they increase their risk of infection, PAZ International, is taking food baskets to these needy families.These communities are along the shores of the Tapajos and Amazon River systems, where thousands of villagers reside. Through this partnership, the financial assistance will help us purchase basic supplies such as rice, beans, oil, salt, sugar, noodles, powdered milk, coffee, flour, toilet paper, and bar soap.We use our boats to transport the supplies from the city to the communities along these huge river systems. We count on the help of our local workers, who buy the supplies, load the boats, put together the food baskets, and distribute the baskets to the families.
