Since the beginning of the Covid crisis, we have found our centre in downtown Winnipeg, nicknamed Hope Central- has become crucial in our response to the crisis. We have had many opportunities to share furniture and food from the centre as well as have fellowship, small groups, pastor's meetings, etc in our centre. We have a space of about 1500 square feet which enables us to store some important items such as donated food items and basic furniture in part of the centre. Other parts are used for small groups to meet for Bible studies and small group meetings.
Urgent Needs
We have built connections to receive food and furniture on a regular basis this year but we continue to need to pay the rent for our centre each month. The rent for this centre, which we began renting a year ago, has put added pressure on our ministry budget. We have challenged people last year to cover one month's rent or a portion of a month and we had a few months covered. Our rent is $1,500 monthly.

Our MinistryThis past year, and especially since the beginning of May, we have shared thousands of pounds of food out the doors to our ministry community of newcomers that we are trying to impact. When food is donated we post this on a Facebook page to about 200 families of newcomers, mainly Eritrean, and then they come and take what they need. This has proven effective in deepening relationships with people, inviting people to study the Word, and generally to further the Kingdom.
