In the heart of West Africa, particularly in Nigeria's Benue State, over 1.8 million individuals have been displaced due to ongoing conflicts and instability. Among them, more than 300,000 reside in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, with approximately 45% being children. Tragically, many of these young ones have been out of school for years or have never had the opportunity to enroll, and at least 44,000 are reportedly malnourished. This dire situation underscores the urgent need for comprehensive support to restore hope and provide sustainable futures for these vulnerable populations.
Restore Mission International, a non-profit organization guided by core values of accountability, compassion, excellence, integrity, and service, is dedicated to addressing these challenges. Their multifaceted approach focuses on providing free primary and secondary education to over 1,500 children across two IDP camps, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow. To combat hunger and enhance learning capabilities, they serve at least 3,000 school meals weekly, ensuring that no child has to learn on an empty stomach. Recognizing the importance of economic independence, Restore Mission also empowers adults by facilitating vocational training in viable trades, equipping them with the necessary tools and capital to sustain their families economically.
Central to Restore Mission International's philosophy is the belief in holistic transformation through the power of the gospel of Christ. They advocate for building genuine relationships with Christ and walking alongside individuals as they grow in their faith, fostering both spiritual and practical growth. By integrating education, nourishment, vocational training, and spiritual guidance, Restore Mission International strives to restore hope, transform lives, and empower communities to break the cycle of poverty and displacement.
