The organization began in 2011 through a personal initiative of Reverend Samson Karens and his wife, Alice, in Naivasha, Kenya, when they reached out to street children in the lake town of Nakuru County. This effort was born out of Reverend Samson’s own experience as a child. Throughout his youth, he was cast aside as a homeless street urchin until caring missionaries from the U.S. rescued him from the streets, invited him to church, and gave him an educational scholarship to return to school.
After experiencing the transformational power of faith and education, Reverend Samson started Change Destiny Life Africa. Today, he and his team travel back to the same streets in Naivasha to help change destinies — one vulnerable child at a time.
