Jesús Responde al Mundo de Hoy (Jesus responds to Today's World) was born 35 years ago with the vision of "writing the name of Jesus large over Paraguay and the world," fulfilling the Great Commission.
Paraguay has 6.4 million inhabitants; 25% are under 15 years old, and 25% live in poverty or extreme poverty. Although the majority identify as Christian, few are committed followers of Jesus. Pagan beliefs, widespread corruption, and needs of all kinds still predominate.
There are about 2000 evangelical churches of different traditions, most of them small and facing challenges such as a lack of pastoral training, scarce resources, and a lack of clarity of focus.
The mission of Jesús Responde is to support the church in the proclamation of the Gospel and the integration of new believers into local congregations with the use of concrete tools and actions such as:
Evangelistic Events: About 500 events take place a year with one or more churches to impact their community. We provide training, sound equipment, communication, evangelists, musicians, coordination, among other things.
Wheelchairs and Hospital Chaplaincy: Thanks to an alliance with Free Wheelchair Mission, we deliver more than a thousand wheelchairs annually to people in need, each accompanied by the message of the Gospel. The Chaplaincy allows us to serve countless patients hospitalized in hospitals, their families, and healthcare staff directly.
Soup Kitchens: Accompanying local churches, we support hundreds of soup kitchens where thousands of children in situations of poverty receive food at least once a week, biblical teaching, and recreation.
Oansa and Youth Connection Clubs: In alliance with Awana International, we train and equip churches to evangelize and disciple thousands of children and adolescents with effective and time-tested programs.
Deporvida (Sportslife): This ministry promotes the integral development of children and youth through more than 60 soccer schools in churches. Each week, they train, participate in tournaments, and receive biblical teaching and values.
