Hookers For Jesus is a survivor-led and founded non-profit by Annie Lobert. HFJ started as an outreach on the Las Vegas strip & hotels, in the strip clubs and jails. What started as a grassroots effort for those negatively affected by the sex industry, grew into providing much-needed housing and direct support resources.
Destiny House & Dream House: Safe Housing Programs of Hookers For Jesus. Through our programs, we offer transitional support to at-risk women who want to escape the commercial sex industry/and or sex trafficking. This includes providing spiritual, emotional, and physical healing as clients work to leave their past behind and embrace a life of purpose and destiny.
Destiny House: is a 9-24 month, no charge, safe house estate for sex trafficking victims and commercially exploited women. Our unique residential facilities and programming are designed to address the whole person with trauma-informed care: spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional healing. Services include individualized programs, biblically-based counselling, trauma therapy, nutrition education, fitness instruction, life-skills training and educational opportunities.
Dream House: is a 1 year transitional living program for ladies who have graduated from the Destiny House program. This program is less structured than the Destiny House & is for clients who are ready to be on their own but with a support system available if needed. Services include independent living skills, schooling & job acquirement, and all programs offered at Destiny House if clients choose to participate.
Ladies of Destiny: Weekly support group and faith study for trafficking victims, commercially exploited women and women who want to join currently incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
Saturday Night Love: Outreach to sex industry participants/sex trafficking victims in and outside of the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
Fundraising has been very challenging during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have noticed a drop in regular expected donations per quarter. When there is low funding, there is low staff. When there is lower staff, the less clients we can assist who are escaping trafficking. Our goal is to always increase our capacity for client assistance.
We are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, and our strategy is prayer-centered. We have advertised for new positions, and we are currently training and hiring new staff.
To note: We have always needed a fundraising coordinator/donor relations person to pursue relationships with new potential donors and existing ones, and we have just hired this person!
