Sheena was born and raised in Hong Kong and immigrated with her family to Toronto, Canada at the age of 11. She came to know the Lord through the youth group at her local church in Toronto. During her undergraduate years at Queens University, she along with her friends attended the Urbana Student Mission Convention and she responded to Acts 1:8 by dedicating her life to be God's witness however and wherever He leads. In 2007, by the grace of God she completed dental school from Pittsburgh, PA and a hospital residency in Rochester, NY. Subsequently, God led her to serve for a year through Africa Inland Mission in a beautiful but impoverished part of East Africa. She was mentored by an amazing group of likeminded doctors who shared the hope and healing of Christ through providing dental and oral maxillofacial surgeries in a desperate place. It was in Africa that the Lord took a hold of her heart to commit to long-term ministry. She returned back to Toronto to complete her Master of Theological Studies at Tyndale Seminary in 2012 and subsequently completed a post-graduate diploma in practical theology. While in Canada, Sheena works on a regular basis providing dental services among the Inuit population in the the province of Nunavut. For the past 12 years, Sheena has been living and serving in the highlands of PNG serving in the areas of clinical dentistry, community health development and outreach, and improving health access among the rural majority in PNG. Sheena is the iCMDA regional secretary for Oceania working alongside health-science students and junior doctors in the Oceania region. She facilitates training and regional conferences on key issues that integrate faith and practice. Sheena is humbled to witness how the Lord has been transforming lives through healthcare missions in this part of the world.
