Statement of Faith & Code of Conduct

Adhering to this Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct is determined in the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees of The Great Commission Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Friends of The Great Commission (“The GC”).

THE Employee understands, agrees, and will act in accordance with the following:

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that all human beings have sinned and are thus subject to God’s just condemnation, but salvation is available to all by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  6. We believe God designed marriage as an exclusive union between one man and one woman, and marriage is the foundation of the family. The Bible prohibits sexual relationships outside of a biblical marriage.
  7. Our physicality, male and female, and our sexuality are good gifts of God’s creation. As such, we do not affirm the resolution of the tension between one’s biological sex and one’s experience of gender by the adoption of a gender identity or expression discordant with one’s birth sex. We are called to accept and embrace our created biological and genetic sex.
  8. We believe that human life is sacred from fertilization to its natural death, as each person is lovingly created in the image of God. We must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of others.
  9. We affirm that life is a precious gift from God, and its value is not determined by stage of development, age, ability, or circumstance.

Code of Conduct

The GC seeks to partner with people, projects, activities and organizations who are dedicated to helping fulfill the Great Commission as defined in the gospel of Matthew 28:19–20. The GC is a Christian based organization, and therefore expects the ministries it works with and employees to live a life that is consistent with biblical standards in the following:

  1. To love and serve others (Colossians 3:12–15; John 13:34–35; Romans 15:5; Ephesians 4:32).
  2. To live a life consistent with the Scriptures and refrain from following the desires of our sinful nature. (Galatians 5:19–21; 1 Corinthians 6:12–20; Colossians 3:5–9).
  3. To maintain the highest ethical standards in ministry and personal life. (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 3:2–7).
  4. To be an example of Christ in overall life – in speech, faith, purity, love. (1 Timothy 4:12; Philippians 2:14–15; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Colossians 3:12–17; Ephesians 5:2; Colossians 3:17).
