LINK Village Society - COVID-19 Crisis Update
Up to 45,000 South Africans are expected to die from  COVID-19 over the next two to three years.South Africa is home to 3.5 million vulnerable children who need a new family, shelter, or care. These orphans and vulnerable children are left without care and support due to the deaths of HIV/AIDS affected persons, re-marriage of deserted /widowed /divorced women, absence of love and security in the home, family disputes, and unwanted pregnancies of sexually exploited girls. In townships, vast numbers of orphans, vulnerable children, and women at risk line up in long queues to get food. The immediate need for food supersedes social distancing practices, as only a small portion of them receive food. Because of hunger, the community is not adhering to the lockdown regulations that require people to stay home to contain the spread of COVID-19. Imagine how fast the disease can spread under those circumstances!

Urgent Needs

Our project aims to purchase land and build a village to house and care for orphans, vulnerable children, and women at risk. Providing shelter with access to food and clean water will help reduce the risk of being infected with COVID-19. Without comfort, shelter, and food, there is little hope for the future of South Africa’s most vulnerable population. LINK Village wants to deliver that hope!
