Integrating trades into the model allows Action Felix to provide training and hands-on opportunities to equip the students with practical skills and prepare them to enter the workforce.Children and young adults from Căminul Felix are engaged in various activities offered by Action Felix, such as tailoring, carpentry, hospitality, farming, gardening and auto repairs. Over the years they were able to master new skills, secure good paying jobs and break the poverty cycle.These children suffered severe trauma before having been accepted in Căminul Felix care, which impacted their behavior, attention span and ability to learn. They had difficulty controlling their emotions and forming good relationships, all of these making it extremely difficult for such children to succeed. Despite these facts, with God’s help and unconditional love, our skilled instructors were able to win the trust, attention and participation of these children, and the Action Felix training programs produced amazing results.Alin Leu came to Căminul Felix when he was 11, along with his brother Florin, who was 9. They had different fathers. Their mother took her 3 year old daughter with her and abandoned Alin and Florin. After having undergone the carpentry training program, Alin continued to assist in the Action Felix carpentry shop. This training earned him a livelihood when he graduated. Alin is now married, has 2 daughters, and owns a small furniture manufacturing shop.We are grateful for GCF! These funds are used to run the carpentry training program (i.e. small furniture creation or repairs of exiting furniture, repairs of doors, roofs, etc.). The Action Felix Carpentry Shop addresses the needs of Căminul Felix homes.Help us raise $10,000 for the next roof! Căminul Felix houses accommodate up to 15 people and the roof area is approximately 6,500 sq ft.PGJyLz4=
