About This Project

James Penner and Associates is an innovative youth consulting and research group that resources and educates individuals, organizations and churches who care about youth, their families and their communities. Their insights are instructive and even revolutionary.

James has been teaching sociology of youth at various colleges and universities for 25 years, and together with Claire, has worked directly with youth and young adults for the past four decades

James is the lead author of the Hemorrhaging Faith project, which looked at the reasons why Canadian young adults stay, leave and return to church.

Presently they are researching emotional healing in the church, and finding resources for churches to be safe, intergenerational, inclusive and authentic, where adults intentionally mature and the younger generations joyfully stay engaged.
