About This Project

Word on the Street Ministries (in partnership with One Plus God Ministries) exists to help the street children of Haiti through food, education, fun, and most importantly, the Gospel. There are thousands of children living on Haiti’s streets; some of them are orphans, some have been kicked out by their families, and some are working on the streets to help support their families. They wipe down cars stuck in traffic, help keep traffic going, help you park at the grocery store, and sometimes sell things, all in hopes of getting some money so they can live another day. These children are at risk not only of gang violence because they are out in the open, but also of gang recruitment, as the gangs promise food and shelter in exchange for joining.

These children need help, and they need hope.

We have a school 3 days a week where they learn typical subjects and are also served lunch, and we hope to expand to a full school week as funding allows. We also have a Jubilee Day on Saturdays, where they come and hear the Gospel, have a meal, and are able to play and dance and have fun with friends, away from the relentless fight-or-flight survival mode they are in at other times.

We are currently up against extreme inflation (a 22% increase in the last 5 years), as well as danger from the gangs who continue to take more territory. We need your prayers and financial support to overcome these challenges! Please pray for the safety of our staff, their families, and the children we serve. ●        $85 will cover a week of school or a Jubilee Day.

●        $250 will pay our Haitian Director’s salary for a month.

●        $550 will allow us to take a meal and the Gospel to the prisoners one time.
